As we approach the holiday season, and I contemplate how blessed I am I would feel ungratful not to share. Some of the things in life I am most grateful for ...Being a Mom... I can't imagine how empty my life would be without Olivia, Zacary and Jacob. I absolutly adore each one of them. I am so blessed that they are mine! My kiddos are my life. END. OF. STORY.
Zane..There are not many fathers like Zane. Zane is an amazing Dad that loves to spend time with his kids. He is so involved. Zane IS the Dad he never had.
Family...I feel blessed to be so close to my family. Even though life is chaotic and we can't see each other as often as we would like, it is a blessing to have them just across town. They are always there when we need them.
Good Friends...I truly have the greatest friends. Over the past year I have made an effort to be more outgoing and become closer with some of my friends that live near me. I have started and strengthened some amazing friendships. It is meaningful to me to know there are so many people willing to help us in a pinch. I have literally dozens of good friends that would drop anything and help me out. I love them. I am so blessed to have them as friends.
My Faith...I am blessed that my life has direction. I am thankful that my children are learning morals and values. I am so grateful that there are amazing examples for my children all around them, awesome people that I hope my children grow up being like.
My Job...I am so thankful for my job. I feel like the income our family gets from my job greatly improves our quality of life. I am thankful every day that I went to nursing school. I truly love my job. I wanted to be a nurse since I was in High School. I work with some amazingly fun people. How lucky is it to work with some of my best friends? In the words of a work friend of mine..."we had the craziest busy night, but we rocked it, and had fun doing it." There are not many nights when I don't feel that way. We can do anything there because we have amazing doctors and nurses. I work with some of the the best doctors in the world. I am blessed to consider the night shift doctors my friends. Last week when I told one of the doctors about a farewell party I was helping throw for a secretary she reached into her scrub pocket and pulled out $100 bill and handed it to me to contribute to the expenses of the party. Another one said to me "tell me what to bring and I will be there early to help you." They are some of the most giving people who also happen to literally save lives in their spare time. I love that when someone passes in a code arrest the doctors ask the 20 people in the room for "a moment of silence to honor the life" of the person that died. I love that the doctors will go pray with families. Did I mention I LOVE my job. Yes, some days it is a hassle to get organized and out the door. When I get there I am usually having fun. I am not looking at the clock in misery. How many people can say that about a 13 hour shift?
Yah, I am one lucky girl! I love my life! I wouldn't trade it for anything. (Well I wouldn't mind my life having a smaller waist and a fatter wallet!)
