It is 9:38 a.m. on the first day of school. My kids have been gone for 1 hour and 38 minutes and I am already bored.
Dropping off Zach and Olivia for their first day of school did not go as expected at all.
Zach has been ECSTATIC that he is finally in kindergarten. He has talked about and planned for this day all summer. When the morning arrived, he was a little unsure he actually wanted to go. He reminded me "Mommmm, I don't like THIS class!". I think he imagined he would have all his buddies from Mom and Me Preschool in his class. It would have been easier if there was SOMEONE in his class he knew the first day.
There were no tears...at least from Zach (I may have had to take a few deep breaths and wipe a few away).
Olivia...she was so excited to go back to school and be with her friends. I made her stop by the door to take a picture, then she ran in her class, without even saying goodbye to me. (WTH!) I almost went in after her and told her that was rude and her mom needed a hug, but decided not to embarrass her. She is growing up too fast. Way too fast.
Jake...it's just you and me kid for the next two years!

I LOVE all the updates! Looks like your back to school is going to look a lot like mine. Two years of just our littles, it's going to be kind of nice. :)
Looks like a fun swim day with Jake. Always scary when we lose one for even a minute. I'm so glad you found him and it wasn't a worse story.
Enjoy a tiny bit of quiet
