School's Out, Let's Celebrate!!!

We had a school's out celebration for the school kids
to celebrate the beginning of summer break! Thanks for
letting Zach and Jake (and the Mom's!) tag along! Thanks
for the ice cream Nana!

Hurry, take a picture...Zach is eating something (besides toast!)

Sherrie met us at the mall after for a little S.C.R.U.B.S. shopping
adventure. Zach rode all of the little rides while we tried stuff on.

No one tell Zach that you should put quarters in these things! If we actually put quarters in for these rides, it probably would have cost $500. Seriously, it entertained him that long!

Looking over him shoulder to check his blind spot. Hmmm, I think you might get your driving skills from your Dad!

There was a carousel ride also, but the pictures were SCARY. Sherrie, you are good at many things...taking pictures is not one of them! JUST KIDDING!

We had a great time at our annual Memorial Day bar-b-que. The kids had lots of fun, including a dip in the pool, Guitar Hero, and a bouncy castle. Thanks for making the long haul over to the West side! We had a great day! I can't think of a better way to spend a holiday than with good friends and family!

A Little Bit Genius, A Little Bit Crazy

Before

After

When we first moved into our house, we decided we wanted some BIG trees! We splurged and bought 5 BIG BOX Ficus trees. Well, there was a terrible freeze a little more than a year ago. It was like the coldest it has been in like 50 years! Well it killed my ficus trees! I have to admit it still makes me depressed to think about my ficus trees. We replaced a couple of them with small trees (no not ficus') . Two of them we lopped the tree trunk off, and left the roots to see what would happen. Well now I have two ficus bushes. So for a few months I have been wondering how do I turn these bushes into trees??? I finally talked to a tree pro, and got the answer. So this morning I put Zachary's swimsuit on him, and we headed out back with the loppers. It was actually pretty fun. I don't do much yard work, as my husband loves it (no really he does!).

So as I finished up, I looked up at Zachary and saw him pull off his floaties. A few minutes later, he went and stood around the corner and acted like he was concentrating hard on something. OH, CRAP (really)! "Zachary are you going poop in your swimsuit?" He looked up at me with huge eyes. BUSTED! As I walked towards him, he decided to canon-ball into the pool (floatie-less). So of coarse I jumped in after him (fully dressed).

Leave it to Zachary to turn a situation where I was going to be mad at him, into Mom kissing and hugging him at the side of the pool. And as an added bonus for him, he got a bath after, which he loves! Genius I tell you. And a little Crazy!

P.S. I have retrieved the little floaters out of the pool, and will shock it tonight!

P.S.S. We will be enrolling in swim lessons soon!

GNO!

Dana, Alex, Me, and Brittany (and Kung Fu Panda!)

Just me and a few of my favorite girls!

Dana and Alex...it is not fair to be that cute!

Top to bottom..left to right

Not pictured: Jamie-G, Charee, Lara and Cathy, ME
Tonight we had a GNO..that is Girl's Night Out in case you don't live with a tween Hannah Montana fan! No, Dana and Brittany GNO is not GYNO. GYNO is something totally different and not quite as fun.
Truth be told I have really been missing living out near you all, and I wish I could pick up my house and move it over there to the East Valley.
The GNO was very therapeutic, and it felt good to laugh after a rough couple of weeks. I was reminded on my way home (in the version of a rap song, but an epiphany none the less!) "tha-tha-tha that that don't kill me, can only make me stronger." So, if you are reading this Kanye West, thank you for the insight! Also, Kanye, I think it is so cool you read my blog please leave a comment :) !
So, I can't wait for the next GNO. If you just rolled your eyes, you are not invited! Thanks everybody for coming! I love you guys!
P.S. I am getting you all a BIG string of beads to wear for the next GNO! HaHa!

Father's and Son's Campout

Zane and Zach and their "suite". They had a great time!

I was (very) worried that Zach would get lost in the woods, but he made it home safely.

I understand Zach and Zane got separated briefly, but Zane assures me Zach was not lost. (I guess that means Zane was lost:)

While the boys were gone, Jake escorted Olivia and I on a Girl's Night Out! Olivia and I went shopping at stores I wouldn't dare take Zachary to...stores with breakables! (Zach is like a bull in a china shop wherever we go!) We also ate at Paradise Bakery, and bought Olivia a new outfit and a swimsuit. We had a great evening together, and look forward to the next Father and Son's!

Nice Tool Belt!

Zachary was walking around singing the Bob the Builder Song, "Can we fix it, yes we can!" Thank heavens for Clorox wipes!

This totally reminds me of a funny story from work. A few months ago a patient came from the regular floor back up to the ICU to visit us and tell us thank you for taking care of him. He gave my friend Angela a hug, and I was standing behind him. He pulled a box of See's Chocolates out of the back of his hospital pants and handed them to Angela.

After he left, I was like Angela...did you see where he was carrying the chocolates...IN HIS PANTS. Do you think we ate them? I will never admit to anything, but ponder this: 1. They were See's Chocolates YUM, YUM. 2. See's Chocolates have a protective paper wrap on the outside of the box. 3. Angela's says she gave him a good bath in the ICU.

Angela and I still laugh about the "pants chocolates" every time we work together! Though, this story may be replaced by the naked patient that was taking swings at Angela and I last week. I will share later when it no longer seems like a HIPPA violation!
